Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan

Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan

Esperanza Rising is about a young girl named Esperanza who lived a wealthy life on her father’s ranch until one day- her whole world falls apart when her father passes. She and her mother are forced to leave Mexico and travel to America to work as field workers. When they arrive, everything is different. There are no servants or workers for them- in fact they are now the workers. As Esperanza and her mother learn to make changes and stay strong during hard times- they grow in knowledge and strength. I liked this book because it showed the life of a girl my age many, many years ago. Recommended for readers age 9 and older.

I hope that you get a chance to read this book and experience the joy of reading Esperanza Rising!
